Women in Wine: Blending the family and the Vine
April 27, 2023
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Family Business Atlantic (FBA) is honoured and privileged to recognize the accomplishments of four exemplary female entrepreneurs at their 2023 Awards of Excellence dinner celebrations which will be held on May 4 at Brightwood Golf and Country Club in Dartmouth.
FBA and our Presenting Sponsors, TD Bank, and Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub are looking forward to sharing the family business stories of Ashley and Devon McConnell Gordon from Benjamin Bridge, Beatrice Stutz from Domaine de Grand Pré and Le Caveau Restaurant and Geena Luckett from Luckett Vineyards – who are all blending the family and the vine.
FBA President, Mark Peapell says, “This is a new FBA Award – Female Leadership in the Growth and Advancement of the Nova Scotia Wine Industry – and will acknowledge these Nova Scotia winery leaders and families who are making a difference in what traditionally has been a male centric industry. We are delighted to shine a light on these four successful second-generation women. They continue to innovate their family business operations to create economic prosperity for those living in the Annapolis Valley and they are an integral part of a growing and developing Nova Scotia wine industry.”
Wine making is one of the oldest family businesses, where women are just now rising to the top tiers. From managing directors and winemakers, to founders and oenologists, women are leading and shaping the future of the wine industry. While the talent of women needs no occasion to highlight, Family Business Atlantic’s 15th Awards of Excellence program is the perfect opportunity to showcase four exceptional women who are making a difference in expanding this industry in our region.
Join us at this unique and insightful event, where we will learn more about their personal and professional journeys and sample some of the wines from each vineyard! The evening includes a cocktail reception followed by a three-course wine paired dinner and presentations on each of this year’s awards recipients. For more information click here.
