As long-time members of FBA, the Casey family has had access to FBA programming and sessions related to family business succession and other topics. Transitioning their business to a third generation, with all owners actively working in the business, is a success story which the family is proud of. Casey Concrete Limited and The Casey Group of companies has continued to evolve over the years as a family enterprise, working in partnership with extended family and other families to build a resilient company in Atlantic Canada.
The third generation of the Casey family; Steven, Bruce, and Peter Casey are the active owners of Casey Concrete Limited and have insights into their family enterprise from their decades-long tenure in construction and manufacturing. From humble beginnings in 1952, the Casey family has navigated change, seized opportunities, and sculpted Casey Concrete into a strong regional player in concrete products manufacturing.
The Casey family’s journey from the first generation to the third has involved many challenging business decisions with triumphs and setbacks. Characteristics such as determination, innovation, and belief in family run businesses have allowed the Casey family to keep a focus on its goals and ambitions. The family’s experiences have given a deep understanding of the intricacies and rewards of family entrepreneurship.
The Casey Family is pleased to be a part of the vital role that family businesses play in shaping our economy and communities.
“The Peter Wilson Dinner has been a celebration of the success and contributions of family businesses for 25 years. Our family and employees have benefited tremendously by learning from others and sharing our own family business experience. My father, Peter, would be very proud of the event’s legacy and the contribution that it makes to the development of family businesses in the region.” – David Wilson, son of the late Peter Wilson
