This October, Family Business Atlantic and presenting sponsor, Atlantic Superstore, will welcome Jessie Jollymore to the family business dinner to share the success story of Hope Blooms. She’ll be joined by youth members who have given back to their community through growing their own fruits and vegetables, producing salad dressings and participating in various programs offered by the local social enterprise. Since winning CBC’s Dragons Den, the organization has received a number of prestigious awards and recognition, and has grown to now provide dressings for 11 Atlantic Superstore locations throughout HRM.
“The Atlantic Superstore partnership with the kids and community at Hope Blooms has been a great success, and we’ve been working with their community for a few years – customer feedback, community recognition and regular opportunities for media coverage, not just in our region, but even nationally,” says Mark Boudreau, Director of Corporate Affairs. “The kids, who are well recognized and considered models in the community, regularly visit at our stores and meet our customers directly – it’s always a big hit when they connect with customers.”
Proceeds of the sale of their dressings go towards scholarship funds for the kids. To date, over 20,000 bottles have been sold at the 11 Superstore locations across the province.
