Ali has been working for her family business, Halifax Seed Company, for four years in a sales position, and currently in a management position. Halifax Seed was established in 1866 making it Canada’s oldest continuously operating family owned seed company. The company has evolved to be a market leader within the agriculture and horticulture industry in Atlantic Canada. Ali not only represents the company while travelling to stores across New Brunswick, she also is able to apply her leadership and managerial skills as her role within the business increases.
Ali’s vision for the company is to continue to be a market leader, develop strong relationships with suppliers and customers, and to build on the reputation that has been made for the company through past generations. She has become more involved within the family business and is a part of the Board of Advisory group which is helping her to learn more about the business in order to properly deal with succession.
Ali has always been a natural athlete, excelling at soccer, skiing and paddling. She was recruited by the University of Maine on a soccer scholarship, but decided instead to go to the University of New Brunswick to play varsity soccer. She graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Recreation and Sport Management with Honours. Ali lives in Saint John with her husband Mitch Gallant and their much loved dog Rookie.
